This will always remain on our News page - Donna Street winning volunteer of the year and posing with
NC Governor Pat McCrory and his lovely wife.

Our rescue is grateful for the generous grant given to us again this year by Grace Episcopal Church Foundation to help us continue our work to save animals and help economically disadvantaged families with emergency pet care in crisis situations.

There are no words adequate to convey our sadness and grief over the passing of Alice Kopacki on Dec. 12, 2019. Alice lost her courageous battle with cancer. She touched many lives, both human and animal in so many positive and supportive ways. Even in her final days she reached out to all her fellow animal advocates with words of encouragement and for us to continue going forward for the animals.

Alice served on our board of directors and has been an honorary member of our board for several years.
She was a voice for the animals, generous, selfless, a leader, champion, mentor, and friend. Alice was a tremendous force that helped push through positive changes in our current county animal ordinance as well as awareness for much needed continued changes ; particularly efforts to save feral cats and cat colonies and develop TNR programs to save them from euthanasia.
We can think of no better way to honor Alice than to continue working toward a No Kill county ; and to continue being a voice for the animals.

We miss you Alice.
